These terms govern trips booked with Tourago Travel, a travel agency licensed by the Algerian Ministry of Tourism (licence No. 4359). By submitting a booking request you agree to them.

1. Booking and confirmation

Submitting the booking form on this site is a request, not a confirmed reservation. We reply by email, usually within 48 hours, to confirm availability and send payment instructions. Your booking becomes firm only when we have confirmed it in writing and received your deposit.

2. Prices and what they include

All prices are quoted per person in euros (EUR) and are based on shared accommodation unless stated otherwise. Each trip page lists what is included and what is not. Unless the trip page says otherwise:

• Included: accommodation, professional guide, meals as described, ground transport, entrance fees, domestic flights and desert logistics where listed, and visa support documents.
• Not included: international flights to and from Algeria, travel insurance, personal expenses, tips, and anything not explicitly listed.

Prices may change before your booking is confirmed — for example if airline or supplier costs change. Once we have confirmed your booking in writing, the price is fixed.

3. Payment

• A deposit of 30% of the total is due to confirm your booking.
• The balance is due 30 days before departure.
• Bookings made within 30 days of departure are payable in full at confirmation.
• Payment is by bank transfer. We send the account details with your confirmation. Bank charges are the traveller's responsibility.
• Fixed-departure trips — currently the Djanet Luxury Safari — are payable in full at booking rather than by deposit. The trip page states this before you enquire.

4. Cancellation policy

If you cancel

Cancellations must be sent in writing to contact@touragotravel.com. The date we receive your email is the date we apply.

Costs already paid to third parties on your behalf and which cannot be recovered — domestic flights, desert permits, non-refundable accommodation — may be charged in addition.

Fixed departures are the exception. Once a place on a fixed-departure trip is confirmed it is non-refundable at any notice and the table above does not apply, because the flights, permits and camp places are bought for you at that moment. This is why cancellation insurance is required.

If we cancel

We may cancel a trip if the minimum group size is not reached, or for reasons beyond our control such as security conditions, natural events or government restrictions. If we cancel, you may choose between an alternative date, an alternative trip of similar value, or a full refund of everything you have paid us. We are not responsible for separately booked international flights, so please consider insurance that covers them.

Changes to a confirmed booking

We will do our best to accommodate a change of date or traveller names. Changes are subject to availability and to any charges our suppliers apply.

5. Travel insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is required for every traveller. It should cover at minimum medical treatment and repatriation, trip cancellation and curtailment, and personal belongings. Desert and trekking itineraries should be declared to your insurer. We may ask for your policy details before departure.

6. Passports, visas and entry requirements

You are responsible for holding a passport valid for at least six months beyond your date of entry, and for obtaining the correct visa. We provide the supporting documents Algerian visa applications require — an invitation letter, confirmed accommodation and an itinerary — and guide you through the process, but the decision rests entirely with the Algerian authorities. A visa refusal is treated as a cancellation by the traveller under section 4, so we recommend insurance that covers it.

7. Health and fitness

Our Saharan itineraries involve long drives on unpaved roads, walking on sand and dunes, camping and significant temperature swings. Please tell us before booking about any medical condition, mobility limitation, allergy or dietary requirement that affects your participation, so we can advise honestly on whether an itinerary suits you.

8. Behaviour and local customs

Algeria is a country with its own laws and social norms. We ask travellers to respect them, to follow the guidance of their guide — particularly on safety in desert areas — and not to disturb archaeological or rock-art sites. We may end a traveller's participation, without refund, in the rare case of conduct that endangers others or seriously disrupts the group.

9. Our responsibility

We take reasonable care in selecting and supervising the hotels, camps, drivers and guides we work with, and we are responsible for delivering the services described in your confirmation. We are not responsible for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, including weather, road or border closures, airline delays or cancellations, strikes, civil unrest or acts of government.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Photography

We sometimes photograph trips for our website and social channels. Tell your guide if you would rather not appear, and we will respect that.

11. Complaints

If something is wrong during your trip, tell your guide immediately — most issues can be fixed on the spot. If a problem remains unresolved, write to contact@touragotravel.com within 30 days of returning.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by Algerian law, and disputes fall to the competent courts of Sétif, Algeria. If you are a consumer resident in the EU or the UK, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence.
